Let us introduce you to some of the long-time Japanese locals who are living and doing business in Madarao.
Fujiko Takazawa- Madarao Picture Book Museum
Fujiko and her husband have been long time locals in Madarao. They started the Madarao Picture Book Museum 24 years ago to provide an alternative place for children and adults to relax and enjoy the town. The Madarao Picture Book Museum is a wonderful space with childrens books and activities, a big woodfire stove, antique rural bric a brac and delicious drinks. If you don't see her there, you can find Fujiko in the ski resort information centre in the ski season. And if she doesn't already have enough to do, in summer she also farms blueberries. So drop in for a coffee sometime. Entry is 700 yen for adults and includes one complimentary drink.
